David D. Engle was born 1963 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. He attended The Pennsylvania State University (B.A., Political Science with high distinction, 1986) (Phi Beta Kappa). He received his legal education at the University of North Carolina (J.D., 1989) and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1989. He moved to State College and began practicing law with Robert Mitinger at Mitinger & Engle in 1991, emphasizing Personal Injury Litigation, Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, Real Estate Closings, and District Justice Hearings.

In 1999, he joined the law firm of Masorti, Sullivan & Engle, P.C. as a founding shareholder. He practiced there until May 2004, emphasizing Personal Injury Litigation, Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, and Real Estate Closings. He and his wife Jill Engle opened the firm Engle & Engle in May, 2004 and his areas of practice remain the same. He is the Special Counsel for the Township of Halfmoon, the Port Matilda Borough Zoning Hearing Board and the Spring Township Zoning Hearing Board. Mr. Engle has served on the Board of Directors of the State College Area Jaycees and is presently on the Board of Directors of, and President of, Back the Lions.
